What we will not build, how the website itself may be used, and what we need from you for an engagement to work.

1. Why this page exists

Two reasons. First, so you know before a discovery call whether your project is something we will take on. Second, so that when we decline something, it is on a stated policy rather than an improvised judgement.

DevSource.DEV LLC reserves the right to decline or withdraw from any engagement that conflicts with this policy.

2. Work we will not take on

We do not build, and will withdraw from, projects whose purpose or primary use is:

• Illegal activity under the law of the United States, the country you operate in, or the country your users are in.
• Fraud or deception — phishing pages, fake storefronts, fabricated reviews, cloned brands, or anything designed to make someone believe they are dealing with a person or company they are not.
• Malware and intrusion tooling — software intended to gain unauthorised access, exfiltrate data, evade detection, or damage systems. Security work for systems you own or are authorised in writing to test is fine; tell us up front.
• Unsolicited bulk messaging — spam infrastructure, mass cold-email or SMS systems built to evade sender rules, or scrapers whose purpose is harvesting contact details for that use.
• Harassment or exploitation — tools for stalking, doxxing, non-consensual surveillance of individuals, or targeting a private person.
• Child sexual abuse material, or any platform whose moderation posture makes its presence foreseeable.
• Content that incites violence or targets people on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, gender, or sexual orientation.
• Infringing intellectual property — including copying a competitor’s product, design, or codebase and presenting it as original work.
• Deliberate circumvention of a platform’s terms, rate limits, paywalls or access controls.

This list is not exhaustive. If something is not listed but is clearly in the same spirit, the same answer applies.

3. Work we may decline on judgement

Some projects are lawful but not a fit. We may decline where the technical approach is one we consider unsafe or unmaintainable and you are not open to an alternative, where the timeline cannot be met at the quality we are willing to put our name to, where the scope cannot be defined well enough to quote honestly, or where the working relationship is not viable.

Declining is not a judgement about you. It usually means someone else is a better fit, and we will say so plainly rather than quote a price designed to make you go away.

4. Using this website

When using devsource.dev itself, you agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its database, or its infrastructure;
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site without our prior written permission — if you have found something, email us and we will thank you for it;
• Submit the contact form in an automated or repeated fashion, or use it to deliver spam, malicious links, or abusive content;
• Scrape the site in a way that degrades it for other visitors;
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in a submission.

We may block access from any source that does these things, without notice.

5. What we need from you

A project runs late for predictable reasons, and most of them are on the client side. To hold a timeline we need:

• One decision-maker with authority to approve work. Feedback assembled from a committee, arriving in fragments, is the single most common cause of delay.
• Consolidated feedback — one list per review round, not a stream of messages over a week.
• Turnaround within 7 calendar days on deliverables sent for review, unless we agree otherwise.
• Assets and access — content, brand files, credentials, and third-party accounts, provided when requested rather than at the end.
• The rights to what you give us. You confirm you own or are licensed to use any content, imagery, or code you supply. If you send us something you do not have the rights to, the indemnity in section 10 of the Terms of Service applies.
• Honesty about constraints — a real budget ceiling, a real deadline, an existing system that must be kept alive. We can design around any constraint we know about.

6. Conduct

We treat clients with professional respect and expect the same. Abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behaviour toward us or anyone we work with ends the engagement immediately, with payment due for work completed to that point.

7. Reporting a problem

If you believe something we have built is being used in breach of this policy, or you have found a security issue in this site, email info@devsource.dev. Security reports made in good faith are welcome and we will not pursue action against a researcher who reports responsibly and does not access or destroy other people’s data.
